The Tutoring and Academic Support Center offers workshops throughout the year on math and geometry, study skill strategies and writing, reading and speech. Workshops are free to currently enrolled COD students.
To register for any of the math or geometry workshops, sign up online, email math-assist@cod.edu, call (630) 942-3339 or stop by the front reception desk in the Tutoring and Academic Support Center. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome when space is available. All math sessions are held in person only in the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (SRC 2102).
Information about the Math Placement Test
Learn about taking the math placement test and how you can work to improve your score. No math instruction is given at this session.

Skill Workshops for the Math Placement Test
Basic pencil and paper math skills will be reviewed in this session. These are required for the Math Placement Test but not sufficient on their own to earn a high score. For more advanced skills, see our self-paced reviews or use the ALEKS PPL provided by COD free of charge.

Geometry Review Workshops
This free review workshop reviews basic concepts covered by the ALEKS geometry placement test.

Trigonometry Workshops
This workshop will review critical trigonometry skills required for success in MATH 2231 (Calculus I).

Factoring Workshop
This workshop will review critical factoring skills required for success in MATH 1431 (Precalculus I) and beyond.

Pizza and Planning
Enjoy free pizza while preparing for a successful semester. In this hands-on workshop, staff from the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) will offer tips designed to help students stay on top of assignments, create a study schedule, and manage their time effectively. Bring your course syllabi or a laptop to this in-person session in the Student Resource Center (Room 2131) to access your assignments and due dates.

Beginning of Semester Success Workshops
Beginning of Semester Success (BOSS) workshops are open to all College of DuPage students and provide strategies for study skills, time management, as well as maintaining a positive attitude throughout the semester. Learn more about BOSS workshops.

Reading and Writing Assistance
Writing, Reading, Speech Assistance offers in-person and online appointments to assist students in critical reading, writing, and thinking skills. Prior to registering for a course with a reading or writing requirement, students will need to review their placement options to determine their readiness for college-level reading and writing coursework.
