Being a successful student athlete takes more than talent. It requires time management, teamwork, perseverance and a strong support system. Meet with Your Admissions Representative or Visit Campus

Not sure how to get started or if COD is the right fit? Connect with your admission representative or attend a campus event to explore the college and get your questions answered.

Submit the General Admissions Application

Start by submitting the general admissions application. Once your application is processed, you’ll receive an email titled “COD Student Portal Username” with your username, instructions to set your password and steps to access your student email.

Note that new applicants are required to pay a $20 application fee. Students who may qualify for a fee waiver.

Explore Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Payment Plan Options

Learn about financial aid, scholarships, and flexible payment plans, including deadlines and eligibility requirements to help you plan ahead.

Scholarships for athletic participation are not currently offered.

Determine Course Placement

  • Reading and Writing: Meet placement requirements by submitting one of the following: an official high school or college transcript, a qualifying ACT or SAT score, or a qualifying GED score. 
  • Math: Check math placement requirements to see if you qualify to waive prerequisites or need to take a placement test.

Meet with an Advisor

Call (630) 942-2259 to schedule an appointment or visit advising for more information. When scheduling, indicate that you are an athlete, as there may be separate advising sessions available.

Register for Classes and Pay for Tuition

To register, login to your InsideCOD Portal. You must be registered as a full-time student (12+ credit hours) to be eligible to play in your sport.

To pay for classes in full or set up a payment plan, log in to your InsideCOD Portal and go to the "Student Payment Information" section under myAccess for Students.

Purchase Textbooks/Course Supplies

Books and other materials you need for your classes can be purchased at the bookstore on campus or online at codbooks.com

Attend New Student Orientation (NSO)

At NSO, you'll be able to meet other Chaparrals, get more familiar with campus and hear everything COD has to offer.

To compete as a COD athlete, you'll need to complete the requirements listed below.

  • Athletic Eligibility Forms Packet - Contact your head coach or pick up a packet at the Athletics Main Office (PEC 121). All eligibility forms from this packet must be completed and hard copies submitted to Head Coach
  • Athletic Medical Requirements – Review the required medical forms and make sure to submit all completed documents by the listed deadline.

Submit Official Transcripts and Test Scores

Submit all official high school (with graduation date) and college transcripts, ACT, SAT, AP or CLEP scores. If submitting prior to graduation or the end of the semester, you will need to submit your transcript in progress, and your final transcript for NJCAA eligibility.
