Community members and elected officials joined College of DuPage leaders May 13 to mark the completion of an ambitious overhaul of the Student Services Center (SSC) at College of DuPage, designed to streamline access to COD resources and provide enhanced student support.

Located on the east side of the College’s Glen Ellyn campus adjacent to the Berg Instructional and Student Resource centers, the $30 million project includes realignment of several key departments, which COD Interim President Dr. Christine M. Hammond said reflects the College’s renewed commitment to its students, employees and community members.

“Whether you come to the College for advising, financial aid, registration or myriad of other services, the new SSC was built with each and every one of you in mind,” she said. “The intentionality of the spaces reflects the mission and vision of College of DuPage and our commitment to ensuring our students are seen, heard and supported.”

Joined by Board Chair Christine Fenne, Vice Chair Florence Appel and Trustee Thomas Tumminaro, Dr. Hammond celebrated the newly renovated space, which houses revamped areas for key departments including Access & Accommodations, Admissions & Outreach, Career Services, Counseling, Advising, Transfer Services, The Hub, Registration, Student Financial Assistance, Student Life and Veterans Services. Additionally, the building’s main entrance has been reconfigured to create a more welcoming gateway to campus for both current and prospective students.

“This renovation was made possible through the support of our Board of Trustees, Village of Glen Ellyn, numerous departments here on campus and our construction partners,” Dr. Hammond said. “Everything we do at College of DuPage is geared toward student success, and this incredible space will serve our students well, both now and in the future.”
