Educational Program Benefits Accepted
The Chapter 30- Active Duty GI Bill® is a federal VA benefit that provides up to 36 months of education benefits (48 months in some cases) paid directly to the veteran.

Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR &E) is a federal VA program available to veterans who have been determined eligible by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to have a service-connected disability.
Chapter 31 will make payment to the campus for tuition and fees, books and supplies, and a monthly basic allowance for housing.

The Chapter 33- Post 9/11 GI Bill® is a federal VA benefit that provides up to 36 months of education benefits (48 months in some cases) to eligible individuals.
This benefit will pay applicable tuition and fees directly to the school. Students enrolled in greater than half-time receive a monthly basic allowance based on the zip code where the school is located. The amount of funds released for each category is dependent on the veteran's level of entitlement for Chapter 33.

Dependents: Dependents of eligible servicemen/women could be eligible for transferred entitlement of Chapter 33 benefits. The determination of transferability is made by the Department of Defense (DoD). For additional information, visit va.gov.
Chapter 35 is a federal VA benefit that provides up to 45 months of education benefits directly to the child or spouse of a Veteran or service member who has died, is captured or missing, or is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability.

Chapter 1606- Montgomery GI Bill® is a federal VA benefit that provides up to 36 months of education benefits (48 months in some cases) to service members of the Selected Reserve. A monthly allowance is paid directly to the veteran dependent on training time.
Selected Reserve service branches include Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard and Air National Guard.

The Illinois Veterans Grant is a state benefit available through the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). The grant pays tuition and the per credit hour student fee, but not material fees. Once approved by ISAC, the 120-unit eligibility is equivalent to four full-time years of enrollment at an Illinois public college or university. IVG cannot be used toward noncredit courses at College of DuPage.

The Illinois National Guard Grant is at state benefit available through the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). The grant pays tuition and the per credit hour student fee, but not material fees. Once approved by ISAC, the 120-unit eligibility is equivalent to four full-time years of enrollment at an Illinois public college or university. ING cannot be used toward noncredit courses at College of DuPage. Applicants must apply each academic year to continue their eligibility.

The MIA/POW Scholarship is a state benefit available through the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs (IDVA). The scholarship pays tuition and the per credit hour student fee, but not material fees. Once approved by IDVA, the 120-unit eligibility is equivalent to four full-time years of enrollment at an Illinois public college or university. MIA-POW cannot be used toward noncredit courses at College of DuPage.

Tuition assistance (TA) is a Department of Defense program. TA rules will vary between military branches and depend on whether the unit is active, Reserve or National Guard.
