Licensed Massage Therapist Continuing Education

Continuing Education courses for Licensed Massage Therapists are available at College of DuPage year round. 
National Certification Board Approved Provider for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for Continuing EducationThe COD Massage Therapy program is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) to provide continuing education for licensed massage therapists. Classes are held on the main campus in Glen Ellyn in the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 1131 and 1125.

 

 

Intro to Table Thai

Learn fully clothed compression and range-of-motion techniques adapted from traditional Thai massage. These techniques can be added to your existing table massage routines and build your confidence for performing fully clothed sessions that are effective and satisfying. This one-day seminar introduces you to a sampler of techniques and prepares you for our full Table Thai series. Please bring a bottom sheet and a face cradle cover. Tables will be provided. 6 CE hours. Instructor: Phil Hinton

Reflexology: Easy Feet

Spend a day on your feet! Learn the history and techniques of reflexology applied to the hand and foot with light pressure points. You will receive hand and foot charts to take home and learn a general treatment meant to influence health and balance for the full body. 7 CE hours. Instructor: Phil Hinton

PNMT for the Hip and Thigh

The vital role of the hip as a source of pain and its role in healthy movement is often overlooked. Precise soft tissue approaches can be amazingly effective, particularly when hip or lower back pain is present without visible pathology. The focus of this seminar is on accurate assessment strategies and effective treatment techniques to help you treat the right structure for the right reason. PNMT for the Leg and Foot

Manual therapists will leave with clear clinical reasoning skills to determine the source of a client’s pain and the technical skills to positively affect that pain. For the knee, we will help you understand and treat medial, lateral, and posterior pain syndromes. In the lower leg, conditions affecting the anterior and posterior shin splints, calf pain, and pain syndromes of the feet (plantar fasciitis / plantar fasciosis) will be explored.
